A One-Man Operation

Modern Evil Press is, in reality, one man: Teel McClanahan III. I write the novels, the short stories, and the poetry. I narrate the audio versions, and I compose the music for them. I edit, copyedit, create layouts, select typefaces, and create cover designs. I write marketing copy, design websites (including this page), coupons, flyers, and business cards. I file government paperwork, do bookkeeping & accounting, collect & remit taxes, and try to keep things organized. If you order a physical product from this website, I’ll personally address it, package it, and drop it off at the post office.

Which is not to say I do everything myself. Not really. I can’t catch every typographical error (and if you find one, let me know – I’ll correct it in a future edition and mention you in the acknowledgments), and sometimes my sentences are unclear in unintentional ways that I can’t grasp. My family, my friends, online contacts through sites like Twitter, and sometimes eager fans who can’t wait to read the next book all help me get my manuscripts into shape. I always ask for feedback, often on sites like Plurk, on my cover images and other design elements. I blog about what I’m doing, and look forward to constructive feedback in the comments and via email.

Most importantly, none of the above would matter much without readers. I do everything I can to create experiences worth having, but when it comes down to it, it’s up to you to experience them. To read the books. To listen to the podcasts. To appreciate the art. I’m only one man, sure, but it takes every one of you to make Modern Evil Press a success.
