This poem was originally published in 2004 as part of The Vintage Collection – including short stories and poetry that I wrote as a teenager (mostly during high school), and which I copied word for word and typo-for-typo from the hand-written and hand-typed originals. The intention was, as with my other, more recent poetry collections, to capture the raw immediacy of what was captured at the time. I intend to release an updated, annotated, edited and rewritten version of The Vintage Collection at a later date, but for now I’ll read it aloud to you in between chapters of Untrue Tales…
